A Culinary Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

TK202's Story

The spark of Teaching Kitchen 202 (TK202) came to life over dinner between two foodies. A simple meal that brought joy to them evolved into TK202 culinary program today. The passion of culinary arts is honed through hours in restaurants, commercial cooking spaces, and home kitchens. Yet, for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, barriers exist for their journey becoming a professional chef or restaurateur. TK202 seeks to dismantle those barriers by becoming a premier culinary school for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students where the culinary arts are taught in American Sign Language (ASL).

Today TK202 is proud to offer an occupational certification program through in-person or virtually. Offering both programs to aspiring culinary professionals ensures no one is left behind and all are welcome to pursue their passion, may it be whipping up Italian al fresco, perfecting the art of a crème brûlée, or knowing how to make a perfectly balanced sandwich. We’re here for it all. Come join us today at TK202 and discover the magic within the culinary arts for yourself.
